    GnuPG Support?

I used Pegasus from 1995-2007 with a PGP plugin (used Gerard's for years, then Michael's and liked them both -- thanks guys!). Then I switched to Thunderbird using the Enigma plugin with open-source GnuPG. I would like a copy of Pegasus on my system again but am not willing to go back to bloated, proprietary PGP after using the very small, very agile and open-source GnuPG. Is there any chance anyone will be developing a plugin to use with open-souce GnuPG? (EDIT: Now that I am thinking back, I seem to remember the source code for PGP was finally made public, but I still like the very small footprint of GnuPG.)

    AW: GnuPG Support?

    Try Gerards QDGPG: http://www.grt.net.tt/qdgpg.html

Hey Martin, thanks a lot! (I even went to his page before I posted, but did not see the link to the GnuPG flavor!)

    Re: AW: GnuPG Support?

I have been unable to get it to work with Windows7-64bit, any ideas?  I did figure to put qdlang.dll in %Windows%\SysWOW64, but I still get

Process creation failed. Cannot launch GPG.EXE executable

I have the usual registry keys in HKCU and HKLM pointing to my nondefault installation location(F:\Program Files\GNU\GnuPG) and it is in the PATH variable, so typing gpg -? at a command line works in any folder.

Works fine in Windows XP for me.

    AW: Re: AW: GnuPG Support?

    Do you use Gpg4win ?

Gpg4win uses GPG 2 and the executable file is GPG2.EXE. There are gpg.exe-files for compatibility, but not in the directory, QDGPG expects GPG.EXE to be. So check, in which directory gpg2.exe exists. If there is no gpg.exe in the same directory, copy gpg2.exe to gpg.exe.

     HTH

Still using 1.4.9, so that is not it.  1.4.9 and  2.0.17 work fine in XP(with gpg2 copied as gpg for 2.0.17), but neither work in Win7-64bit.  I also tried gpg.exe inside the Pegasus program directory and various locations on the C: drive to no avail.

    Re: GnuPG Support?

Just my suggestion (don't know anything about GPG):

    If GPG.EXE or GPG2.EXE is  a 16bit(-DOS-)-Application, it won't run on Win7/64bit, because there is no 16bit-engine in Win7/64bit.

gpg and gpg2 work fine - I mostly use them from the command line.

It could be something with qdgpg and 16-bit though.

    AW: Re: GnuPG Support?

It works on my machine (Win7 64 bit and gpg (GnuPG) 2.0.14 (Gpg4win 2.0.2)). GPG.exe (a copy from GPG2.EXE) is placed at C:\Program Files (x86)\GNU\GnuPG.

    Re: GnuPG Support?

Works fine now after looking at ProcessMonitor.  Needed to add

    [HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\GNU\GnuPG]

    "Install Directory"="F:\\Program Files\\GNU\\GnuPG"
