    Slow Email Downloads

Hi, I am new to the forums and hopefully someone else out there might be able to help with our problem.

I am running my Mercury mail server on a new Windows Server 2012 domain. Our previous server setup was Mercury mail running off a Server 2003 domain and all was fine. We built the brand new domain a couple of months ago and all is back up and running with us all downloading the mails onto Outlook 2010. However....... since the change over it is taking ages to download the emails from the server onto our clients, for example today it took one of my engineers 1 hr 15 mins to download 37MB of emails (114 emails in total).

Having done some research we have looked at only downloading headers, creating new .pst files TCP scaling etc etc.

What we now need to know, is there any compatibility issues anyone knows of between Mercury mail and server 2012? is there any specific settings we have missed or need to take into consideration?

    Thanks in advance

    Phil

I don't have hands-on experience with Server 2012 so I can only have basic suggestions here.

What real-time anti-virus or other scanning is happening on the new server?  The usual advice is to exclude all of Mercury's folders from the scan.

Are your clients accessing via POP or IMAP?  Try putting on session logging for a short time to see exactly what is happening in the interaction between client and server.  Any particular delay or repeats should be noticeable.
