• Re: Sending an e-mail fails with a 500 error (server not responding)

A 550 mailbox unavailable error should be specific to one recipient email address, usually the result of an invalid address. It should also generate a failed delivery bounce back message that may provide additional information.

  • Re: Sending an e-mail fails with a 500 error (server not responding)

Enable internet session logging, attempt a send, then review the log for additional clues. Don't post the entire contents of a log as it contains credentials, possibly encrypted but it's easily decrypted. Whatever is causing the problem will be at the end of the log. Don't forget to turn session logging off when done ...

  • Re: Strange message & events on starting Pegasus Mail

What you describe is the behavior experienced when the pmail.ini file gets corrupted or deleted. Mail data is not affected but configuration settings are at defaults. If you have a very recent backup you can try restoring pmail.ini otherwise you'll need to review all configuration settings and set to your preferences. The ...

  • Re: pmail cache folders - reclaim?

I noticed the lack of response to this inquiry and Rolf's response to the similar inquiry on the Mercury forum. I don't do IMAP so I don't have an answer but it seems to me that the cache files aren't necessary for an IMAP connection to see the folders and messages considering they are the result of a connection.I would try moving the cache ...

  • Re: IERenderer v2.6.2.2 and VIEWER.PM

idw: Brian Fluet:What does IER use to determine which VIEWER.PM file to update when multiple instances of Pegasus Mail are running? It updates the file in the directory where Pegasus Mail's executable is launched from so all users working with this installation of Pegasus Mail are affected. Ok. That's the last started instance which may ...

What does IER use to determine which VIEWER.PM file to update when multiple instances of Pegasus Mail are running? Also, in multi-user network installations of Pegasus Mail I believe it is common practice the protect the \Programs directory. Does IER gracefully tolerate a write protected VIEWER.PM file?

  • Re: Open .ics/.vcs attachments

The new mail filter rules, if they detect a .ics or .vcs attachment, will invoke pmical when the message arrives, and each time the new mail folder is processed if that message marked as unread. Once the message is marked as read it will be ignored by the filter. Marking it as unread will again cause a trigger by the rule when the new ...

  • Re: Open .ics/.vcs attachments

stuzz78, Do you use filters to detect .vcs and .ics attachments in messages as they arrive? If so, I'm curious whether they work on these unnamced attachments. If not, here are mine should you want to consider this approach. If expression body matches ''BEGIN:VCALENDAR'' Goto ''vCalendar''If expression body matches ''Content-Type: ...

  • IERenderer v2.6.2.2 and VIEWER.PM

I just had a EUREKA moment regarding VIEWER.PM as affected by IERender 2.6.2.2.Here's what came into focus:1. The VIEWER.PM file that is in each mailbox directory default entries plus any added via Tools/Options/Content Viewers.2. The VIEWER.PM file that is in \PROGRAMS contains a global list of content viewers which appears to get appended to the ...

  • Re: Open .ics/.vcs attachments

Do you have .ics and .vcs entries in the Pegasus Mail Content Viewer list (Tools/Options/Content Viewers)? If not, this is a clip from the ''To Install'' section of the pmicalHelp.htm file: 4. Go into Pegasus Mail menu Tools/Options/Content Viewers 5. Add an entry for filename extension ''.vcs'' (and ''.ics'') and point to the ...
